The 4 Hour Body

This is my first "slow carb diet" meal.  Organic ground beef with garlic onions and spices Organic garbanzo beans with butter and garlic sea salt (got lazy on that one) And a fresh herb salad! Never done this before but it's mega mouth party goodness!  Fresh organic basil, cilantro, parsley, tomato and avocado, lemon and olive oil, salt and pepper.

OK- I did a 21 day sugar cleanse, a 12 day Wild Rose herbal detox and the transition between the two was seamless. The rules were basically the same except for a few small changes. But then, after 6 weeks of sugar free life, I went camping with my family for two weeks. I lasted 5 days out there in the forest with no phone or internet while my family ate and drank and marinated meats before saving me any...I didn't stand a chance. But I felt like I had accomplished something, and I had proven to myself just how strong I was capable of being.  So I chose to not feel any guilt when I cheated for the next week. I gave myself a free week. I gained some weight that week. But there were no measuring tapes or scales and I didn't care. I am still proud of myself.

I read The 4 Hour Body while I was eating and drinking freely for a week. All with the intention of beginning the program when I got home. So today is my first day on the program. Its a much more challenging program then the sugar detox and the herbal cleanse.  Mostly because there are so many little details in the book. But in the simplest form, you just eat the same things on repeat, one protein, one legume and as much veggie as you want each meal...and then you get a cheat day! 

A cheat day?? That was the whole reason I  signed up for this madness. And the author, Tim encourages you to "GO HAM" on your cheat days. Apparently a spike in your caloric intake cause a spike in your glucosamine which in turn causes all your "systems" to work faster and harder eventually speeding up your metabolism. So I'm stoked. I have already proven that I am capable of making yummy sugar free meals. So I'm good on that front. And I get the grand prize-CHEAT DAY EVERY WEEK!!!

But the rules are different than before. 

I now have to cut out all rice, and carbs. So no more brown rice, quinoa, or sweet potatoes. Which will be the biggest challenge I imagine. Plus I might get bored eating eggs every day, but I can just keep telling myself "It's only 6 days" and keep my eye on the prize.  When I was on a no sugar cleanse I kept telling myself "it's only 21 days" and I made it through! So whats 6 days? It also helps for scheduling fun times with friends, cause I can now accept invitations for dinner and drinks at least once every week which I haven't been able to do. Plus the biggest bonus is I am free to have a glass of red wine or even two each night if I want. Oh, I want ;)

So here goes nothing. I'll be taking my measurements in the am, and then I will be posting them each week. Of course meals will be posted on my Instagram and Facebook daily!

Does anyone want to join me? Maybe I should do a challenge of some sort. Maybe we should all put in $50 and give the cash to the who ever loses the most body fat percentage?!?!
